  • Gardening: Assist in creating and maintaining welcoming outdoor spaces at our sites, providing a peaceful and positive environment for service users to enjoy.
  • Arts & Craft Activities: Lead creative workshops for residents.
  • Sharing a Skill: Whether this is playing an instrument, tech support, or any other skill you can share.
  • Transport Assistance: Helping to transport service users to appointments.
  • Fundraising Support: Helping to organise campaigns or events and coordinate donation drives.
  • Job Preparation Training: Supporting service users prepare CVs, practical interview skills and job search assistance.
  • Minor Repairs and Maintenance: Helping with basic maintenance tasks across our sites.
  • Social Activities: For example, organising a quiz and/or card games night.
  • Wellbeing Activities: Yoga classes or other fitness session catering for all ages and fitness abilities.

By offering a variety of tasks, Shelter’s volunteers can contribute to the well-being of those experiencing homelessness in a meaningful way.
